Course Descriptions

Ballet & Tap Combo

IA (Ages 2.5-3)

A fun and exciting introduction to dance and movement. Music, games, and play are used to develop motor skills, coordination, balance, and rhythm.

Ballet

IB (Ages 4-5)

Follows in the creative footsteps of IA but starts to encourage preparatory ballet positions and movements.

 

IIA & IIB

Builds on age-appropriate but focused training with emphasis on proper use of the feet and legs, acquiring turnout, and dancing in time with the music. There is also an emphasis on the knowledge of proper ballet terminology.

 

IIIA & IIIB

Students begin to learn turns, complex combinations, and body positions. Pre Pointe is started in IIIA and Pointe work is taught in IIIB.

 

IVA

Students continue to work on complexity of steps and Combinations while developing technique and integrating artistry.

 

IVB

Emphasis is placed on refining technique while developing artistry and style

Adult Classes

We welcome adult dancers of all different backgrounds, goals, and abilities! We strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere through our weekly ballet, dance & fitenss, jazz, and tap classes!

Contemporary

Movement is explored through use of concepts of time, space, and effort. The use of momentum and gravity, the articulation of the upper body, the use of parallel leg positioning, flexed feet, and weight distributions that is low to the ground are skills typically found in Contemporary Dance.

Jazz

Includes strength, flexibility, and conditioning techniques and progressions including isolations, leaps, and turns. Students learn many new fun and trendy dance steps with an emphasis placed on energy, rhythmical accuracy, and styLe!

Musical Theater

Enjoy the excitement of jazz dance, acting, and voice in a Broadway atmosphere!

Tap

Students learn tap rhythm, sounds, and combinations. Emphasis is placed on building speed while keeping the clarity of taps clean.

Broadway Tap

Broadway tap is a combination of rhythm tap with a jazz/musical theater flair. It uses the whole body to tell a story, emphasizing on it's visual presentation

Hip Hop

This fun and energetic Class enables Students to develop creativity, coordination, and musicality through Hip Hop dance and Urban Dance Moves.

Choreography

In this class dancers learn important skills such as collaboration, communicating, self confidence and self expression. Class will focus on various elements that make up the craft of choreography by experimenting with the use of time, energy, space and motion. The dancers will explore what they want their own movement to look and feel like.
